Melody was our one-in-a-million horse, every bit the successful show horse (if not more so) than her full sister, Diva. Not only was she a multi supreme and grand champion at a state and national level, but at one stage was unbeaten at regional level, consistently bringing home the highest honours. In a few short years, she racked up 13 supremes and over 36 champions alone, plus countless other titles in classic trot, best colour, classic head, hunter and trail! She now holds multiple IMHR National Hi Point awards in halter and performance, including Sapphire Hall of Fame and Ruby Level Versatility. Halter was definitely her forte, she absolutely loved to show and was push button for anyone in the ring. She always gave performance a red-hot go too, but she lacked the athleticism of her sister Diva.

After a COVID-induced holiday from the showring, she never seemed to enjoy being back in the ring as much as she previously had, and in 2021 she was sent away to stud and had her first of three foals in 2022. She absolutely loved being a mother. It was her second calling.

But as they say, only the good die young. In September 2025, our world was rocked when Melody was lost to a tragic paddock accident, just shy of her 12th birthday.  We still own her last filly (Badlands Girls Got Rhythm, 2023) and colt foal (Badlands Rock Me, 2024).
